Hake roe medallions in olive oil (115 g)

Huevas de merluza from Agromar: hake roe (Merluccius merluccius) in olive oil with guindilla chilli, in a 115 g tin (78 g drained). The roe is sliced into medallions. The chilli stays light, at 0.1%, so it warms the dish without dominating it.

Agromar has been making conservas in Gijón, Asturias, since 1926. The fish is Cantabrian and the roe is prepared from fresh.

Serve it at room temperature on toast, with a little of its own oil, or alongside boiled potatoes and a green salad.
