Chargrilled octopus in extra virgin olive oil (160 g)

Chargrilled octopus from Conservas Braseadas Güeyumar, in Arbequina extra virgin olive oil, in a 160 g tin (90 g drained). The octopus (Octopus vulgaris) comes from the Cantabrian Sea; Güeyumar selects octopus under 2 kg, cuts it into large pieces and grills it over the flames before packing it in Arbequina extra virgin olive oil from Torre de Canena.

Güeyumar preserves come from Ribadesella, Asturias, and grew out of Güeyu Mar, chef Abel Álvarez's grill restaurant on Playa de Vega, where fish and seafood are cooked over embers.

Serve it at room temperature or lightly warmed, with potatoes, paprika and a drizzle of its oil.
